A presentation of remarkable craftsmanship exude from the "e;Independence"e; finished in Key West on select hardwoods and Cherry veneers. A massive swan neck pediment with two carved rosettes and a hand carved finial rest atop of an inlaid oval marquetry design of satinwood, which is surrounded by boxwood and ebony accents.
Laser-cut fret work borders all sides of the crown and immediately draws the eye to the four fully turned columns, which are free standing from the case, and two massive fully turned and reeded seperate front columns.
Continuing, the lower bowed base is wrapped with the same laser-cut lattice found on the clock's bonnet and offers an inlaid marquetry design on each side along with two large reeded and canted base columns. A solid brass dial features a brushed satin pewter finish with center and corner "e;rice"e; design and spandrels that are acid etched and washed in 24 karat gold.
The national motto "e;God Bless America"e; and the words "e;Let Freedom Ring"e; are etched into the center of the dial and are also washed with 24 karat gold. A functioning moon dial displays artistic scenes of historical American life, and is protected behind a seperate beveled glass dial door.
The satin pewter finish on the clock dial joins an unspoken elegance with the pewter finished weight shells and 24 karat gold washed accent bands and the lyre pendulum with a 10 5/8"e; (270mm) disk, which also features the spun pewter finish and gold accent band. The weights and pendulum are behind a unique bowed locking glass door. The Sounds of America movement plays "e;God Bless America"e;, "e;America the Beautiful"e; and Westminster chimes.
A unique progressive strike feature announces each quarter hour with 1, 2 or 3 strikes. The movement also is equipped with an automatic night silence feature. Hinged side access doors with beveled glass allow viewing of this unique movement.
The brass dial is framed in solid hardwood, which also holds the cast plate with this clock's unique production number, and is protected with a locking door and hand cut beveled glass. A free engraved brass plate is available with this clock. 2 year warranty on parts and workmanship.
