Huge Antique Cuckoo Wall Clock

This is a Huge Cuckcoo clock measuring 30 inches tall including pendulum or 23 inches without. The beautifully carved case is 19 inches wide. The detail in the carving is obvious in the photos. Only one small chip at the very end of the roof carving on right , not really noticeable but about 1 quarter of an inch (if that) is chipped off. The rest of the carving is detailed and perfect. The case could use some cleaning and polish. This clock is made in Portugal in 1951 but the carving is as good or better than many of the black forest clocks. This clock is extremely original with the original label and bellows. The bone hour hand is fine but the minute hand is mostly gone, replacements are available thru Merrit or LaRose.
The best part about this clock and what makes it extremely rare, is the fact that it is spring driven so it does not need weights. Very few were made like this and most of those were shelf clocks. Having no weights makes it a great Cuckoo Clock especially if you have cats (no chains to play with).
The clock is in good running order but may need adjustment after shipment. The only minor problem is the small hook that closes the cuckoos' door when the bird goes back in, is missing. This does not affect the Cuckoo but the door stays open when the bird returns.Over all a great and very unusual clock that runs well.
