Floor Clocks is a term which is essentially synonymous with the terms grandfather clocks and longcase clocks and tallcase clocks. Floor clocks is meant to be a verbally descriptive term, in that grandfather clocks do actually sit on the floor, as opposed to being hung on walls like wall clocks, or put on mantels like mantle clocks.
